Dear friends of the Ensemble BachWerkVokal,
For a long time it was quiet around us, we were quiet. Now we're starting to make music again. We want to make this new start out of silence and listen to its aesthetic quality. With his epochal piece 4'33 '', John Cage set a compositional monument for TACET, in which he reveals the musical dimension of silence to us. Art that makes its own statement, arouses very own feelings and emotions in the audience. A piece as written for this time. With our new video we would like to invite you to immerse yourself in this intense atmosphere.
Soon you will be able to hear sounds from the BachWerkVokal ensemble again. But today it's about starting again, starting again.
John Cage (1912-1992) put this in a nutshell in an aphorism that is probably more accurate today than ever: Begin anywhere.
We would like to thank the artist Michael Hofer-Lenz and the Kollegienkirche Salzburg, represented by Christian Wallisch-Breitsching, for realizing this project.
We're back ... Quiet, but clearly audible ...
Your ensemble BachWerkVokal
